Our Mission

Mocha Sisters Organization's mission is to  articulate and promote community awareness (community service), bring unity among women, teach networking skills with other influential and innovative women of color, provide scholarships, and provide a mentoring program for our local communities.

Our History
Mocha Sisters Organization® was founded October 9, 2004 by Ladi Mallam. It started with a phone conversion discussion with Deirdre Kelly, a native of Jackson, Mississippi
giving the concept of the name of the organization. Ms. Mallam saw a specific vision for an organization with its mission to promote all its’ current six core values.

Mocha Sisters Organization® will partner with organizations to promote the awareness of women of color including health, wellness, business etiquette, and much more. Our mission is to further promote the interests of our organization and our members to the community. We strive to make a difference by educating the public and expanding outreach.

Moving one step further in a positive direction, recruitment started heavily in 2005 to form branches across the United States as well as International branches. Our focus is to build a foundation with members in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area (Denton, Dallas, Collin, and Tarrant counties), then recruit to increase our membership tremendously throughout the United States and Internationally. read more

Our Motto: Our motto for Mocha Sisters Organization® is “The chance of a lifetime volunteering through Mocha Sisters” because the majority of members’ time is spent in community service, providing a mentoring program and scholarships for college/university for African-American females. Our theme for 2009 is “Embracing the Vision.” MSO members must demonstrate the state of being one. MSO members will act on a common understanding of our vision and values.
